Dear Faithful One,

John the Baptist gives one reason God surpasses us. He said in John 1:15 that the reason God “surpassed me” was because he “was before me.” God existed long before we ever came to be and He will exist long after we’re no longer on earth. We were born to fulfill a specific purpose to forward His plans. The next time I get overly stressed out over my plans, I need to just stop and ask myself, “How do these activities fit into God’s eternal plan?” When I keep an eternal perspective, I will only make something a big deal if God thinks it’s a big deal.
