Dear Faithful One,
Have you ever spoken your mind when at home while keeping silent in public? Is it time to show boldness in communicating God’s purpose in public as well?
John 2:12 tells us that Jesus went down to Capernaum with his mother and brothers and his disciples. However, He soon emerged from those He was familiar with to go to Jerusalem . It was in Jerusalem that He went to the temple and said to the vendors in verse 16, “Get these out of here! How dare you turn my Father’s house into a market!” NIV.
Oh Faithful One, when is your voice the loudest? Is it when you are at home with family and those you are familiar with or is it when God sends you to represent Him in public? Jesus spoke against a whole community that was using God for personal gain. He was exposing an entire system that dishonored God. Just imagine a whole community carrying on in their activities while onlookers saw what was going on but chose to keep silent. Oh for the courage to speak up and to throw out what offends God! Is there something you must do to represent God’s character and purpose?
I pray this devotion encouraged you in a special way. When I pray for you, I hear a victory song. I believe in you because I believe in the power of God’s Word transforming you for His purpose.
Love, Anita
