Dear Faithful One,
Have you ever counted on the promise of a parent or a friend? How do you pick up the pieces when you face the fact that someone you trusted with all your heart has broken a promise?
As a child, I counted on the promises of my mother. I believed her more than anyone on earth. She represented God to me. She promised she would never leave me, and I believed her. No matter how challenging life was, we promised to be there for each other. Then, when I woke up to find she had taken her own life, I was devastated and in shock. I felt betrayed and couldn’t believe she had given me…Read More »

Dear Faithful One,
What was God’s role for a mother? Let’s look at one of the roles Jesus’ mother played in His life.
Luke 2:49-52 tells the story of Jesus when he was missing on a family trip to Jerusalem. Without informing His parents, Jesus decided to stay behind to teach in the temple. The story went like this: When his parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us like this? Dear Faithful One,
Have you ever been offered a new role? Perhaps you’ve been invited to step in to continue a family tradition, or to build upon the foundation a predecessor left behind, or to clean up the mess and lead in a new direction. What new challenge are you facing?

He was offered this role when a predecessor lost credibility. 1 Sam 16:1 tells us: The LORD said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and be on your way; I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem. I have…Read More »

Dear Faithful One,
Have you ever wondered, “What does God look like? What does God want us to do with our lives? What does God think about our situation?” If you want to know what God thinks, then look at Jesus.
John 1:18 reads: “No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is at the Father’s side, has made him known.” NIV. Did you notice the words “has made him known”? If I want to know what God thinks about a situation, all I have to do is to look at Jesus’ life and ask myself, “What would Jesus do?” What Jesus would do tells me what God thinks. So next time, imagine…Read More »
