Dear Faithful One,
You may have heard some people say, “It’s your life. Do with it what you want.” But the fact is, our life doesn’t belong to us. Our life was breathed into us by God to fulfill His purpose. Have you taken your life which doesn’t belong to you to set off on a different course than the destination God intended?
In John 12:26, Jesus said, “Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.” NIV. Jesus teaches us that to serve Him means we must follow Him. He then specifically connects following Him with “where I am, my servant also will be.” Following Jesus means serving where God’s presence is evident and not releasing yourself prematurely because you have other plans. Jesus also tells us that when we follow Him by serving where He is working then God will honor us. With God’s honor also comes the prize! Another way of stating this truth is to say God will not honor us if we don’t stay where God’s presence is evident. What are you chasing that would cause you to risk losing God’s honor? What must you change so you won’t risk losing the prize and your blessings?
I pray this devotion encouraged you in a special way. When I pray for you, I hear a victory song. I believe in you because I believe in the power of God’s Word in you as you put His Word into action.
Love, Anita
