My teenage years were rooted in fear, worthlessness, depression, emotional instability and anger. I felt that all of it was my fault. My parents divorced and I covered the pain with drugs and alcohol. When I thought the pain could not become any worse, my father died October 10, 1998. I began to seek out the attention of men to fill my emptiness and found myself 18 years old working at gentlemen’s club, where I stayed for 7 years. I was raising a daughter as a single mom and was consumed with dark clouds of shame, rejection, hopelessness, pride, fear and loneliness. After a night filled with alcohol and cocaine, I found myself dehydrated and desperate for the insanity to come to an end. That day in the emergency room the doctor came in with my blood work to inform me I was perfectly healthy. It was at that moment I felt the presence of God rush through my body, cleansing me of all the shame, guilt and desire to drink or use drugs. That day I was forever changed by God’s amazing power of healing, mercy and loving grace. The walk to freedom was filled with suffering, but the reward of restoration, salvation and redemption made it all worth it! In 2010, I was introduced to Inspire Women and attended an event that revealed to me I was a precious daughter of the King! God has called me to share His power through my testimony to other women that are enslaved to the lifestyle, addictions and shame. I’m learning to live out the teachings that guide me to respond as God’s daughter and to test and approve God’s good, pleasing and perfect will for my life.
What I have gained from the ministry of Inspire Women is priceless. How can I assign a dollar value to what it means to have someone believe in my potential and to invest in me to step into my identity as the King’s daughter? I wish to raise at least $3500 to sponsor one woman through Inspire Women’s Leadership certificate program. I pray you will help me to transform the life of at least one woman to develop her emotional fortitude to live God’s mission for her life. I pray to reach one life at a time! Please help me by donating to the “Spark A Dream” campaign.
