Do you long to get clarity on how your story in God’s bigger story begins and how it will end?
Hebrews 12:2 reads: looking only at Jesus, the originator and perfecter of the faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
We will find clarity in our faith story by looking only to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. Did you see the word “only”? Who have we been looking at and comparing ourselves to?
What does looking only at Jesus entail? We can learn from what Jesus looked at. Watch Jesus’ eyes!!! The Bible tells us Jesus focused on the joy set before him. That joy was finishing what God sent Him to do while visualizing a guaranteed future of taking his seat by his Father in an eternal kingdom!
In the our story, are we finishing what our heavenly Father sent us to do? While finishing, Jesus imagined arriving at his seat in the heavenly kingdom with a heart that is full and satisfied in a mission well done and completed. What about you? Imagine how you want the end of your faith journey to look like and then live backwards. Let’s choose our steps wisely so we’ll live a story that has no regrets!
May our resurrected Jesus live through us! Have a great Easter!
